Hello!
Meet Julia
Hi there. 🌞 I’m Julia Bush, a fine artist and a credentialed art teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience. Teaching students the artistic process and then finally getting to see the ultimate result is always the best part of my job. There is so much creativity in this world and believe it or not, you have it in you too! Although I grew up drawing anything, painting everything, and rearranging my room and dreaming of the impeccably interior designed home I would live in, I have also been trained by other artists and educators that have shaped the artist and person I am today. I have a BA in Studio Arts from CSU Channel Islands and a MA in Education from California Lutheran University.
Over my years in the field I have gained a large list of valuable skills and extensive experience as a mixed-media artist as well as a teacher of all aged peoples and people of different skill sets. In addition to a wide range of artistic abilities, I have deep knowledge of art vocabulary, critique methods, and can share guidance for the Advanced Placement Art Portfolio and for students putting together college portfolios for their best chance of acceptance. My awareness of contemporary, successful, and accomplished art is continually expanding, and I maintain connections throughout the art world—including fine artists, critics, professionals, and major and local art colleges. I also have substantial experience curating art shows and coordinating large collaborative projects. My greatest love is being a mother of two young children, whom I homeschool, which is where I discovered a passion for combining art and the daily lesson of the world. I believe that everyone truly can learn to create art confidently and that begins with exploration, technique, and patience, acceptance, and trust in the art-making process.
Come join an art community with us and find yourself and the talent that exists within you! 🍄
Information
Make-up Policy:
Class enrollment is on an ongoing and consecutive basis.
All absences must be called in, IN ADVANCE, to receive a make-up class. We understand that emergencies and illnesses do come up, so we just ask that a minimum of 24 notice be given to receive a class credit.
With advance notice of absence given, a credit in the form of a make-up class is noted in attendance records with 1 make-up available per student per session.
Make-ups are scheduled on space available basis, by appointment, within each session. It is the guardian’s responsibility to contact Daydream Arts© to schedule student’s make-up.
Make-ups are never refunded and will only be valid and scheduled as long as student is currently enrolled.
No call/late notice absences will result in forfeit of that specific class date. Please understand that we set up, schedule and staff based on who is enrolled in the class and assumed attending. The system is in place to provide accountable attendance and offer flexibility for all to enroll and/or schedule make-up opportunities.
Make-ups must be scheduled within the same session and do not roll over to the following session.
Please note that if your child is showing signs of being ill (coughing, runny nose, etc.) entrance into the class will be denied. This is to maintain the health of every one else within the class as well as the teachers health.
Daydream Arts© has the right to reschedule class at any time due to illness or emergency and will provide another date in place of rescheduled class.
